my job/role

my job in my mutlicam project was to be the live editor which ment i had complete control of the show has i had to learn/use the live editing mixing desk to edit the show while the show is being filmed. also i had to make sure the deck was working as it should and was reciving all three cameras feed.


i also had the role to have a package but due to me being the live editor i had to have a prerecorded package which i had to put together before the show

march 23-03-2010

Today was the day we was ment to do our live show luckly we didnt have to produce ours in the afternoon so we had time to get little bit sorted before hand. We to make our opening and ending credits which i think came out very good. we also had to make sure if there was any props we wanted to use we had. before half 4 when we planned to start the live show we had to put all the prerecored packages onto a DV tape while they where going on we had little run throws so i was able to work out the order of the show on me using the mixing desk. the live show came around rather fast in the show i think we only had two miss haps but they whernt manger one was that miss was when came back after break was our title of show again which didnt come in. The second mishap we had was that when it came to playing jasmins news package it started playing the end of dans package. Apart from that i think the show went rather well .

Today we looked a reviewed the minutes and what we have to do for our live show with dan. We found out we are under the minute mark. so at some point we will have to find a way we can make up those minutes.

Things to do:

get together the dance video in which i want to use

write script in order to do voice over

recored voice over

add voice over to the clips and make sure sound levels are correct

Today we went though compelting some work what we needed to do like the treatment and risk assement forms when we had done that we had to set up the green screen while the green screen was being set up half of us went down to the libary and had to find a image on the realted topic that we had been given. when we came back up we had to say a little part in front of the camera using the green screen behide us. aftyer lunch we where shown how to use the green screen on avid with putting the image we had found behide us. We had to log the footage on and selcet our part when we had done that we placed it onto the time line the draged the moving image onto the top line so we could place the image inbetween us the camera and the sound when we had all that in place we added the green screen effect of the efecct libary. wearing somthing that is green could at times muck it up as lewis was wearing a green tshirt so we was able to what happens and when you are it some times can just look like a floating head as what lewis did have.

Today we started working in our groups we decided what role we was gonna take up which ive taken up the editting part while Charlotte and Lewis are presenting and scirpt writing the show Dan and Jasmin are camera operator/floor manger and Shaun is the director.

We are having a image of a skyline or a recoring of crawley behide us on the green screen but im going to have a mix video of freesyle stuff behide me, and Shaun is going to have game play behind him and Lewis is have a image of the world cup.

We couldnt come up with a name for the show so we are leavin it till the end we worked out that we have about 3 to 4 mins each to fill some of us are doing thiers live and others are prrecording thiers.

after our break we set up the studio stuff we would be using with four of the montars three HD cameras and vision mixer which is where all the filmin is conroled where you can edit eg fading and wiping also zooming or frezzing whats happening.
also had to learn the different names of the cables we had to use as we need to set it up alone when we get to making the show.
